MACHAME ROUTE 62 KILOMETERS: REASONS FOR BEING HARD
- Steep from the start of the climb
- Very steep from 1800 ft after the gate
- Less time for resting after reaching 3,800 ft
- A chance to view almost three view points
- A good route for acclimatization
- A chance to see waterfalls
UMBWE ROUTE 51 KILOMETERS :
- Umbwe Route is recommended for strong climbers with previous mountaineering experience. Â
- Almost similar to machame route
- It is a long step route
- A view of an amazing vegetation and trees
- A view of the mountain peak and the escarpment
- A chance to view water falls

SHIRA ROUTE 46 KILOMETERS: CLIMBING 6 DAYS
- It is an easy route at the base
- It is a long route compared to umbwe
- It has steep slopes after the base
- A chance to view the peak from different angles
- It is a longer route than other routes
- Camps are close to each other giving the climber easy ease in climbing

KILIMANJARO EASY ROUTES
RONGAI ROUTE 72 KILOMETERS
- It does not have very steep slopes
- Passing through the rainforest takes only one hour
- The easiest and first route to reach the base from the gate.
- There are various angles of the mountain peak viewed (seen)
- A view of Kenyan towns
- It has a good scenery
NOTHERN CIRCUIT: CLIMBING 8/ 9 DAYS
- It is on the northern side of the mountain
- It is on the Kenyan side of the mountain
- A chance to see in close range the amboseli national park
- A chance to view the mountain peak from all angles
- It has the best view of the mountain peak from this route which is normally in the pictures for advertising
- It has no steep slope
THE MARANGU ROUTE 70 KILOMETERS (43.5 MILES) : CLIMBING 6 DAYS
- comfortable walking path with a very steady, gradual slope (at least until you reach the last camp)
- The only route that offers hut accommodation. Camping is not allowed.
- Eat in a crowded dining hall.
